
Cheerleader Earns Weekly Heart Award
Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 3, 2025)- A Missouri Valley College cheerleader has earned a weekly award from the Heart of America Athletic Conference after a pair of first-place finishes over the weekend.
Sophomore Aidan Oldham (Kansas City, Mo.) has been named the Heart Cheerleader of the Week, helping the Viking cheer team to championships at two competitions. Oldham competes in the flyer position, and led the team to a 79.83 score at the Coyote Classic, in Saline, Kan., followed by a 91.32 score at the Spartan Showcase in St. Louis, Mo. The 91.32 score was the highest for the program at a competition in nearly three years.
Oldham earns her first weekly Heart award, and this is the first weekly award for a member of the Viking cheer team this season. This award was last won by a member of the team back on March 12, 2024, which went to Sophomore Parker Hoobler (Boulder, Colo.).
Up next, the Missouri Valley cheer team will compete twice later this week. The first competition will be the York (Neb.) Crown Classic, on Friday, followed by the Concordia (Neb.) Day of Duals, Saturday.
