Men's Wrestler Earns Weekly Heart Award

Marshall, Mo., (Dec. 16, 2024)- A Missouri Valley College men's wrestler has earned a weekly award from the Heart of America Athletic Conference for his performance in duals last week.

 

Senior Donavan Parn (Brookfield, Mo.) has been named the Heart Men's Wrester of the Week, presented by Musco, after leading the team at the Eagle Duals over the weekend.  Parn, the No. 19 ranked individual at 141 pounds, finished with a 2-0 record at the event.  Parn opened with a 15-0 technical fall victory over Jayden Nowell of Ottawa (Kan.), followed by a second period (4:41) pin of No. 23 Tyler Deen of Missouri Baptist.  The Vikings defeated Ottawa, 50-6, and Missouri Baptist, 37-16, along with a 27-18 win over Wayland Baptist (Texas) to improve to 6-1 in duals on the season.

 

This is the first weekly Heart award for Parn in his career, and he becomes the first men's wrestler this season to earn the weekly award.

 

Up next, the No. 20 men's wrestling team will compete at the Hastings (Neb.) Open, Jan. 4.
