Women's Soccer Student-Athlete Earns Weekly Heart Award

Marshall, Mo., (Oct. 28, 2024)- A Missouri Valley College women's soccer student-athlete has earned a weekly award from the Heart of America Athletic Conference following a pair of victories last week.

Senior Forward Ashley Arribas (Lake Forest, Calif.) has been named the Heart Women's Soccer Player of the Week, presented by WinWon.  Arribas led the team in two victories to close the regular season, scoring a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to top Baker (Kan.) 3-0, and followed with one goal in a 3-1 victory at Graceland (Iowa).

This is the first weekly Heart award this season for Arribas this season, and the second of her career.  Arribas leads the team with 12 goals and 27 total points, to go with three assists on the season.  Arribas also has 99 career points.

The No. 18 women's soccer team captured an undefeated regular season Heart championship with the pair of wins last week, the first regular season title since 1993.  The Vikings are 13-3-1 overall and ended the conference regular season with a 10-0-1 record.  Up next is the Heart Postseason Tournament, which begins Nov. 5.  Missouri Valley will be the No. 1 seed, and also earned the Heart's automatic berth into the 2024 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship, the program's fourth-straight appearance.
