Women's Soccer Makes Another Jump in Coaches' Poll Position

Marshall, Mo., (Oct. 23, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College women's soccer made another move up the rankings with the latest edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released Wednesday.

 

The Vikings jumped up two spots, and are now ranked No. 18 in the coaches' poll.  The team finished 3-0 during the previous ratings period, all against Heart of America Athletic Conference opponents.  Missouri Valley defeated Benedictine (Kan.), 3-0, Grand View (Iowa), 3-1, and Park (Mo.), 5-0.

 

Two other teams from the Heart are ranked, including No. 6 Central Methodist and No. 24 MidAmerica Nazarene. The Vikings topped Central Methodist, 3-2, and MidAmerica Nazarene, 1-0.  Missouri Valley has defeated No. 21 John Brown (Ark.), 3-2, and lost to No. 7 Oklahoma Wesleyan, 3-2 and No. 7 Columbia (Mo.), 1-0. 

 

The women's soccer team has now been Nationally ranked in 43 of the previous 45 coaches' polls, dating back to the 2020 season.  The No. 18 ranking is the highest for the team so far this season.

 

Missouri Valley is 11-3-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the Heart.  Up next, the team will travel to Baldwin City, Kan., to play Baker (Kan.) tonight (Wednesday) in a 5 p.m., Heart match.
