Bio

Wayne graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1964.  During his time at Valley Wayne was a four-year lettermen in football, baseball, and track and field.  Wayne was coached by Volney Ashford and his football honors include two All-Conference selections, team captain (senior year), 1963 Associated Press Second Team All-American, Sigma Nu First Team All-American, and NAIA Second Team All-American.  During his baseball career Wayne was team captain his junior and senior years, and was twice named All-Conference.  Wayne was also a member of the V-Club and chosen as Mr. Viking in 1964.

In 1965 Wayne earned his Master’s Degree from Arizona State University.  For the last 20 years Wayne has worked at the Prescott Unified School District in Prescott, Arizona.  Wayne has worked as a teacher in Biology, Physical Education, and Driver’s Education, and has also coached football, golf, and track.  In 1976 Wayne was named Coach of the Year, and for the last six years he has served as Athletic Director for the school.

Wayne and his wife Candace (Hardaway) also a Missouri Valley College graduate, have tow daughters Shannon and Michelle.
