Bio
Koby Achane was a member of the Viking men’s basketball program during his time at Missouri Valley College, setting a number of program records. He is the program’s all-time leader in points, scoring 1,547 points during his four-year career with Missouri Valley. He holds the program career records for most three-point field goals made (298), most three-point field goals attempted (787), most field goals attempted (1,323) and is second all-time in most field goals made (530). Koby also holds a number of single-season records, including most three-point field goals made (106), set in the 1995-96 season, most three-point field goals attempted (277), set in 1995-96 season, and is second in most field goal attempts in a season (459), from the 1996-97 season. He was also a two-time selection to the Heart all-conference team, and was placed on the Dean’s List twice at Missouri Valley.
Since graduating from Missouri Valley, Koby has become a sales manager for Tuff Shed, overseeing a department that is set up in 12 Home Depot stores from Mobile, Ala., to Panama City, Fla. He and his wife, Dawn, have been married for 17 years, and have three sons, Brandon, Jairus and Justice, along with one grandson, Bryson.
Koby credits his fellow students, the basketball coaching staff, his teammates on the men’s basketball team, along with the faculty for being people that greatly impacted and influenced him during his time at Missouri Valley. He also enjoyed the diversity of the student-body, getting to meet people from across the country and around the world during his time as a Viking. He says everyone on campus helped show him what he was made of.
