Winter Sports Teams Produce More Than Two Dozen Scholar Athletes

Marshall, Mo., (March 28, 2023)- Missouri Valley College winter athletic teams have produced 25 Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes for the 2023-24 winter sports season spread across five separate programs. The women’s basketball team led with a total of 10 scholar athletes.

Wichita, Kan. (Mar. 2, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team finished competition, Saturday, at the 2024 NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship in Park City, Kan. Senior Chase Zollmann (Poway, Calif.) won a National championship at 149 pounds and led the team to a No. 7 finish in the standings, a nearly 30 place improvement from last year’s championship.

Wichita, Kan. (Feb. 29, 2024)- The No. 16 Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team competed at the 2024 NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship in Wichita, Kan., Thursday. Missouri Valley has five of its wrestlers set to compete on day two, led by Isaac, Hynes and Zollmann who advanced to quarterfinals in their respective weight classes. Two other Vikings are in the consolation brackets.

Park City, Kan., (Feb. 28, 2024)- The Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team is set for the 2024 NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship beginning Thursday and lasting through Saturday at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan. Seven Vikings will compete for a National championship.
No. 16 Men's Wrestling Finishes Third at Heart Championship

Oskaloosa, Iowa, (Feb. 17, 2023)- The No. 16 Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team competed at the 2024 NAIA Heart of America Athletic Conference at Oskaloosa, Iowa, Friday and Saturday. The Vikings placed third in the standings, and were led by No. 3 Senior Chase Zollmann (Poway, Calif.) who placed second at 149 pounds and No. 6 Junior Joshua Isaac who finished second at 285 pounds. Two other Vikings finished third in their respective weight classes, and a total of 5 individuals earned berths into the 2024 NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship.

No. 14 Men's Wrestling Hosts MVC Open

Marshall, Mo., (Feb. 3, 2024)- The No. 14 Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team hosted the MVC Open inside the Burns Athletic Complex Saturday. The Vikings competed against programs from multiple collegiate divisions, including NCAA Division I, and Division II. Leading the team was Freshman Adrian Jimenez (Huntington Beach, Calif.) who finished 5th at 125 pounds.

The Vikings earned a 35-17 win, taking 6 of the contest weight classes.

Men's Wrestling Finishes Third at Missouri Valley Invitational, Two Individual Champions

(January 20, 2024)- The No. 14 Missouri Valley College men’s wrestling team hosted one of the largest collegiate men’s wrestling tournaments in the country with the Missouri Valley Invitational. The event brings in nearly 50 programs, with close to 400 individuals. Five Vikings advanced to the medal rounds, led by a pair of individual champions and Most Outstanding Wrestler Senior Chase Zollmann (Poway, Calif.).
