Bill graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Bill was a three-year football letterman and a two-year track and field letterman.
From 1967 to 1983 Bill was a teacher and coach at Paseo High School in Kansas City. Bill also served as Athletic Director from 1975 to 1982.
In 1971 Bill earned his diploma from the Regional Center of Criminal Justice in Independence (MO), and served as a Kansas City, Missouri reserve police officer until retiring in 1986.
Bill went on to Central Missouri State University to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Secondary Education and in 1989 Bill became Principal of Ruskin Senior High School in Hickman Mills, Missouri.
Bill and his wife Georgia have two children daughter Laura, and son William L. Elliot, II.
