Bio

Tim Cobb made his mark at Missouri Valley College competing in men’s wrestling, and helped elevate the program to new heights, earning recognition beyond the NAIA.

Cobb was a top performer on three NAIA National runner-up teams for the men’s wrestling program, coming in 1998, 2000 and 2001.  In 1998, Cobb earned his first All-American honor after finishing fourth at 142 pounds.  Cobb became a National champion, winning the 149 pound weight class to cap a successful 2000 season.  In 2001, Cobb again advanced to the National championship match, this time at 157 pounds.  Wrestling with a broken collarbone, Cobb finished as National runner-up, ending his career as a three-time All-American.

Cobb was team captain, and helped build the program’s brand during his competition days.  Cobb competed at the Las Vegas Invitational against wrestlers across all collegiate divisions, and outperformed NCAA Division I wrestlers and programs.  In a dual against the University of Oklahoma, Cobb received a standing ovation from the Sooner fanbase after a tremendous technical fall victory that he dominated from start to finish.  Cobb also spent time on the coaching staff after his collegiate wrestling days were completed, guiding the program to a National title in 2003.
