Bio

Steve Allen came to Missouri Valley College in 1992 and became a member of the men’s wrestling team, under the direction of Coach Mike Machholz. Allen became a regional champ, two-time all-American and 1994 National Champion for the Viking wrestling team. Allen was also a member of V-Club.

Allen said that Coach Machholz was the person who influenced him the most at MVC.

In 1996 Allen graduated from MVC with a bachelor’s degree in education. In that same year, Allen was the assistant wrestling coach for the NAIA National Championship Team at Missouri Valley.

In 1997 Allen was the head wrestling coach of the state runner-up team in Hopkinsville, Ky.

In 1998 Allen moved to Broken Arrow, Okla., where he acquired an impressive resume of accomplishments: Allen was the assistant coach for five regional and five district championship teams; three state tournament team champions and two dual-state champions; and assistant coach for USA Oklahoma Wrestling that won four National Dual Championships. As a head coach, Allan received the 1998 Arkansas Valley Coach of the Year award. In 2001 Allen received the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) 5A Wrestling Coach of the Year. In 2002 Allen was the head coach for the regional, district and state championship team from Broken Arrow. 

Allen is a commercial insurance risk consultant and resides in Broken Arrow, Okla. with his wife, Teri, and their three children, Steven, Jacob, and Raegan.
