Bio

Phil graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1973, and was a four-sport letterman for the Vikings.  During his football career Phil earned All-Conference and All-District honors.  Phil earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and later went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Education from Central Missouri State University in 1978.

Phil was a standout athlete at Chillicothe High School lettering in three sports and earning conference and district honors in both football and basketball.  Phil also earned three gold track shoe awards, a citizenship award, and the coaches’ award.

From 1973 to 1977 Phil taught Biology and Physical Education at Kearney (MO) Public Schools, and served as head football coach, and assistant coach in both basketball and track.

During his time at Central Missouri State University Phil was an assistant coach in both football and track, and served as an instructor at the Indiana University football camp.

From 1978 to 1991 Phil was at Moberly Public Schools through the years serving as Physical Education department chairman, head football coach, and assistant coach in basketball, baseball, tennis, football, and track and field.

In 1991 Phil returned to his native Chillicothe where he serves as a Physical Education teacher and assistant football coach at Chillicothe High School.
