Bio

Joe graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1925 and was a four year letterman in both football and baseball.  In the 1923 season and 1924 season Joe played in every minute of every game earning All-Conference Honors both seasons.  Joe played on the first conference championship team in 1923 and captained the Vikings the 1924 season as a senior.

Following graduation Joe taught and coached in public schools and worked for the Shell Oil Company in California.

In 1950 the Marshall native became the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealer in Fredericksburg, Missouri.

Joe other activities include, Lay Leader on the Board of Methodist Church, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Trustee of the Regional Library Board, Democratic Chairman, Madison County and State Auto License Agent, Red Cross, Boy Scouts, FFA, and was named “Outstanding Citizen” in 1953.
