Eric Bax came to Missouri Valley College in 1990 leading the men’s basketball team during his time as a Viking. As a sophomore, Eric played on one of the best men’s basketball teams in program history. The Vikings finished 23-11 in the 1991-92 season advancing to the NAIA Division II National Tournament.

His senior season was the most productive in Eric’s career as he averaged 16.6 points per game shooting nearly 50-percent on the season. He also averaged 8.8 rebounds per game and finished the season selected to the all-HAAC first team and was an all-NAIA honorable mention. Eric sits near the top in a number of career statistical categories at MVC including career blocked shots, with 68, and career rebounds with 517.

Eric graduated with a bachelor of science degree in computer science. For the past 17 years Eric has worked with Infocrossing Healthcare Services as a software engineer. He says his greatest honor was marrying his wife, Danette Bax. They have four children, Parker, Carson, Autumn and Tyler. Eric says he has been busy over the years acting as a coach for his children in many different sports, including basketball, football, baseball and soccer.

Eric says that his head basketball coach and current MVC Athletic Director Tom Fifer, and his teammates were people who greatly influenced him at Missouri Valley. Eric says the relationships he made with his teammates and coaches were great and that he is really thankful those people were a part of his life. In the computer science field Eric credits Ed Leslie and Greg Doolan as people who greatly influenced him.
