George graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1930, the University of Missouri in 1946, and was presented an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Missouri Valley College in 1961.
During his time at Missouri Valley College George lettered in both football and basketball, earning All-Conference honors in the M.C.A.U., and served as President of the Student Body and was a member Phi Delta Kappa.
George served as a United State Naval Officer in World War II earning the Distinguished Service Award.
George served in the public school system in Missouri and Illinois for 31 years before returning to Missouri Valley College to serve as Dean of Students 1964 to 1969, Academic Dean 1972 to 1973, and Interim President 1974 to 1975. George also served as an Elder of the Presbyterian Church.
